10,000 Chicken Sandwiches is the story of Guy Harvey’s early years growing up in western Jamaica. The book is based on his mother’s detailed journals and her amazing photos from the 1950s to the 1970s while being raised on a cattle farm and fishing as often as possible. Guy has penned 65 ink drawings to expand on some of their stories and illustrate the many fishing expeditions and action catching blue marlin that they experienced. The short book is in black and white. His mother, Josephine, reckons she made 10,000 chicken sandwiches over the decades for them to take fishing.
